We live in profoundly disruptive times where radical personal and collective solutions, rooted in transformation of consciousness, are needed to safely navigate perilous terrains, avoid a collapse of cohesive society, and mitigate the impact of ecocide.
This Buddhist based two-year program of seven week-long modules, each with Kittisaro and Thanissara, offers a pathway to embody personal awakening and well–being as the ground for engaging the challenges and opportunities of our time. The Dharmapala Training is a synthesis of Mahayana and Theravada practices and teachings, psychotherapeutic understanding and practice, and engaged activism.

From a London Anglo-Irish family, Thanissara started Buddhist practice in the Burmese school in 1975. She was inspired to ordain after meeting Ajahn Chah and spent 12 years as a Buddhist nun where she was a founding member of Chithurst and Amaravati Buddhist Monasteries. She has facilitated meditation retreats internationally the last 25 years and has an MA in Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapy Practice from Middlesex University & the Karuna Institute in the UK.
