In 1999, Vallecitos alumni generously funded the construction of the Vallecitos Hermitage, a secluded cabin overlooking mountains, meadows and the Vallecitos River. The Hermitage is the perfect setting for self retreats.
Individuals and couples can find privacy and seclusion at the Hermitage, which is furnished with a queen size bed and hot plate for heating water (cooking is not permitted at the Hermitage). The Hermitage is heated, and its small deck faces south, making it an ideal spot for taking in the view and the brilliant mountain sunshine.
Hermits eat breakfast in the dining room at the main lodge, and and may request to have other meals packed for them to take and enjoy in solitude at the Hermitage.
Hermitage fees include lodging and all meals. The Hermitage is reserved for self-retreats; hermits do not participate in retreats at Vallecitos during their stay. Hermits are expected to do a short yogi job each day. Staff will provide a short orientation for Hermitage guests upon arrival.
Since many more people request use of the Hermitage than can be accommodated, use of it is scheduled on a first come, first served basis, with the full fee due upon registration. There are no refunds for cancellations.
The cost of the Hermitage is $100 per person per night and $150 per night for couples.
